View the apparently respectable facades behind which fakers administered their queasy cures: less reputable characters like the notorious John St John Long, non other than the “King of the Quacks”.

Discover the very medical address where budding doctor Arthur Conan Doyle created both Sherlock Holmes and one of the world’s most famous fictional physicians, Dr Watson.

Appropriately, our journey sweeps through Cavendish Square to see a hygienic statue made entirely from soap and catch a glimpse of a number of the country’s most venerable medical institutions including The King’s Fund and Royal College of Nursing.

We conclude on Portland Place near the home of the ‘keepers of consciousness’  at the Association of Anaesthetists and house of the first Baronet of Park Crescent…

The tour costs £16** per person.

** This walk includes the option of an escorted visit to the Wallace Collection for £2.50 extra per person. Please ask about a museum visit when making your booking. Private tours are subject to a minimum group fee for parties of 14 persons or fewer.
