Follow the history of medicine from classical times to the present day through the lives and works of some of its greatest geniuses
From Hippocrates to William Harvey, Marie Stopes to Marie Curie, Ambroise Pare to Edward Jenner, Joseph Lister, Alexander Fleming to Florey and Chain.
This new tour for 2018 explores the great figures who have shaped medicine and science and led to huge improvements in the length and quality of human lives.
We also take time to explore the legacy of lesser known trailblazers to whom many owe their lives. Meet the formidable – but sometimes forgotten – figures responsible for the discovery of insulin, the development of speech therapy, the creation of the hospice movement, the establishment of hepatology and the founding of universal healthcare.
Our journey takes us from the heart of medical London into the world of academic Bloomsbury and on to the cutting edge of scientific research near King’s Cross.
